Abu Dhabi Residents Test Their Arabic Skills
On Friday, the Arabic Language Centre in Abu Dhabi announced the results of the emirate’s first assessment of Arabic skills. More than 4,000 people of different ages participated. Arabic was their first language.
The participants answered twelve questions, choosing each answer from several options. The questions measured grammar, word formation, spelling, and word meanings.
Around 70 percent of participants showed a satisfactory level. Understanding word meanings was the strongest skill. However, word formation was the weakest skill. The centre will use the results to develop programs that meet people’s needs.
